A WORD ABOUT US
We believe that love—not knowledge—is the greatest mark of a mature Christian. The presence of love in an individual and a community of believers, is an indication of the abiding presence of God’s Spirit and therefore spiritual fruit. We desire to be a church marked by their love for the people of Waypoint, the people of Clovis, and the people of the world.
At Waypoint Church we welcome people from all backgrounds and at any spiritual level. We want to “meet people where they are.” We recognize that we all are on a spiritual journey of growth in our knowledge of Christ and abiding in His image. Our hope is that people will come to Waypoint seeking truth about God, life, and eternity. While we want to meet people where they are, we also do not want to “leave them where they are.” We desire to direct people to Christ and want to see their lives transformed by the power of His grace and truth.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Waypoint Christian Church: making disciples through gospel-centeredness, transformational community, and visible and verbal faith.

We believe our mission at Waypoint is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. This is the ongoing mission that Christ has given His church throughout the centuries. This mission can be achieved only through Christ’s authority, power, and abiding presence. We desire to be a congregation that walks closely with Jesus and models our fellowship after His character and priorities. We believe there are three vital aspects to making disciples.

1
Gospel-Centeredness (Ezek. 36:22-27, 1 Cor. 10:31, Ps. 127:1, John 15:4-11)
In everything we do, we want it to be about who Jesus is, what He has done, and what He will continue to do. As His church, it is our joy to bring glory to God by worshiping and proclaiming Jesus. The gospel is our foundation and guiding point.

2
Transformational Community (Rom. 12, Col. 3:1-4, Heb. 12:1-3, Eph. 4:1-7, Phil. 2:12)
At Waypoint we want to meet people where they are but we do not want to leave them where they are. Through Sunday morning Worship Gatherings and weekly Community Groups, we desire to direct people to Christ and want to see their lives transformed by the power of His grace and truth.

3
Visible and Verbal Faith (Eph. 2:8-10, Rom. 10:5-13, Matt. 5:14-16, Mark 10:43-45)
We are determined to proclaim Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection through our words and actions. Jesus continually modeled missional behavior by speaking the truth of God and serving those around Him, seeking out those rejected by society, and providing for those in need. We desire to cultivate a heart of service within our congregation for Waypoint’s ministries, ministries of our local community, and the global ministries with whom we have partnered.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
FOR HIS GLORY
We are dedicated to the teaching and preaching of the Bible as the inspired Holy Scripture. The Bible is our standard of truth and will be held as the highest authority. We value times of questions and welcome all those who would sincerely inquire about any point of doctrine or belief. With our entire heart, we believe the common phrase, “In essentials, unity; In non-essentials, liberty; In all things, charity.” In the statement that follows we have outlined what we consider essentials for salvation, essentials for Waypoint Church membership, essentials for leadership within Waypoint, and areas of doctrinal liberty.
